We have planned a service project at Goose Bay Airport (Z40) on June 9th to paint marks for short field landing practice similar to the Palmer and Fairbanks gravel strips. DOT and FAA have tentatively approved our plan. We have also received the support of the Alaska Airmen’s Association, which has offered to co-host a work party. This is already an annual project at FAI gravel strip which enjoys widespread support in that community.
Over the past few months we have been working out details with DOT and it appears we are on track to make this a recurring annual local event! Volunteers are needed to help measure and locate markers, move stencils, and run the paint sprayer. Contact Galen,
